Religion may be one of the most toxic institutions human beings ever created.  In fact, it may be one of the world's greatest evils, though the reasons for this are not often obvious and on the surface.

For sure, in some religious meetings there can often be an overtly positive atmosphere. Religion can help create community, and can help support people through humanitarian work.

But often, below this pretext, is a deeply misaligned view of the ultimate nature of reality -- aka, "God".  The word "God" (or its equivalent) is thrown around in religion, but very few members of the religious hierarchy have any genuine experiential awareness of what this term is supposed to refer to.  They don't really know God -- they just have a bunch of beliefs about the concept of God.  The experiential awareness of Ultimate Reality is not something that can be taught, read about in books, or studied in a formal religious atmosphere.

That misalignment between the concept of God that religion has and the Blissful Sourceful Consciousness that God actually is is why religion can be so problematic. Religions says it's about "God", but it ends up being a form of control through fear.

Every form of inhumanity, bigotry, war, discrimination, and genocide has used "God" as its justification.  Religion claims to be the instrument for God to connect with humanity, but the institution itself is mainly an instrument for men to constrict, control, and gain power through fear over the masses.

It is easy to gain power when you claim to have access to Ultimate Authority.  But religion rarely if ever connects with this Higher Consciousness.  By claiming to speak for God, but really be speaking for old patriarchal structures, over many lifetimes, religion progressively constricts our inner consciousness, actually preventing us for realizing our True Divine Nature.  Religion ultimately does the exact opposite of what it says it's doing -- it puts barrier after barrier between you and your True Divine Nature (which is where God exists).

Religion, as is it typically practiced, is really at its best as a social and cultural organization, and when it is providing social services to its community.  But so often, the Self-realization of each individual member of the community is blocked by life-negative dogma with the implicit purpose of preventing you from finding the True Source of your Being, so that the religious institution itself can remain the only true power.

You can imagine why the type of karma that is generated in a religious context can have such power, even if that karma is now past-life.  Your consciousness may still be confused, based on this programming, about what the true nature of Reality is, and about how safe it is for you to pursue your spiritual goals and your soul's purpose with freedom and joy, without fear of persecution, repercussions, and even death (as you may have literally or symbolically experienced in a past life).

If you are on a consciously spiritual path in this lifetime, then it is guaranteed that you have had many religious past lives.  It's likely that you have been in monastic orders, and have been on both ends of the control and fear mechanisms that religion is.

This subconscious programming can be very deep now, and can be keeping you in fear from really stepping into your purpose, living life freely and fully.  The programming can keep you from risking stepping out of the box, and really listening to your own inner voice.

A teacher of mine has said that most of our negative soul programming actually originated from religion.  So this particular type of clearing is of great importance to the overall freedom of your soul, and your ability to live your soul's purpose now, free of guilt, shame, and fear of an unknown future.

In this clearing, we will be focusing on clearing the following:

• fear of persecution

• fear of stepping out on your own, into your own aligned ways of being, for fear of being condemned

• soul memories and fears of being killed or persecuted for stepping out of orthodoxy onto your own spiritual path

• persecution for doing spiritual work, including magic, herbalism, witchcraft, shamanism, being a midwife, working with sexual healing, channeling healing and information, etc.

• programming of fear that if you leave the orthodox path, you will go to hell

• if you go your own way, you will be excommunicated and shunned

• you will have to leave your family and the larger community, if you choose your own Divine Connection and path

• sexual assault from clergy and from others in religious contexts

• sexual fear and blocks instilled by religious programming

• religious control of sexual orientation, and persecution of those outside the norms of the day

• religious control of gender identity and gender norms

• "God doesn't ordain certain relationship contexts"

• you may not get to heaven unless you comply with orthodox teachings

• religious control through shame, guilt, and fear

• religion as a false substitute for actual Source Consciousness

• identification with false teachings that actually block your spiritual progress

• false beliefs of all kinds restricting your spiritual development now

• God only loves your conditionally, if you are a certain way, do certain things, comply, and do what you're expected to

• the rewards of "heaven" are only for good people, and you can never be good

• God only loves "certain people" (whom the religion deems acceptable)

• God only loves certain races, cultures, genders, adherents to political philosophies, citizens of certain countries, speakers of certain languages, people who hold particular ideologies

• God only loves certain people, but not others.

• God sacrificed "himself" for you (for instance, as with Jesus), and you should be forever indebted, guilty, shamed, and you "owe something" to God perpetually

• religion exploiting woundedness

• blocks to feeling safe

• all forms of negative self-identification, exacerbated by or created by religion

• mind locks due to religiously-creative cognitive biases (determine which are the most major ones):

• making "god" in my own image, or in the image of unconscious dogma and separative projections
